Diagnostics
Light vehicle diagnostics. If a warning light is on, something has stopped working or another workshop has given up on it, that is the job. Faults get found before parts get thrown at them.

Koroit, VictoriaAuto ElectricianQualified & Insured
For all your auto electrical needs.
Trent Taylor has been an auto electrician for over ten years. Diagnostics on a car nobody else can sort out, a full 12V system in a caravan, electric brakes, a reverse camera, a new battery. One bloke, one workshop in Koroit, and you deal with him directly.
What Trent does
Light vehicles, 4WDs, caravans and campers. If it runs on twelve volts and it has stopped doing what it is meant to, bring it to Koroit.
Light vehicle diagnostics. If a warning light is on, something has stopped working or another workshop has given up on it, that is the job. Faults get found before parts get thrown at them.
Electric brake controllers wired in and set up properly, so a loaded van pulls up straight instead of shoving the tow vehicle around.
Anderson plugs fitted front and rear, sized and fused to the load, so the van or camper actually charges off the tow vehicle instead of trickling.
Full 12V systems for vans and campers. Solar, DC to DC charging, isolators, labelled fuse blocks and the wiring in between.
Reverse cameras and monitors fitted and routed out of sight, on everything from a daily hatch to a dual cab towing a tandem van.
Head units, speakers and UHF gear installed and wired in tidy, with the looms and harnesses done properly rather than twisted and taped.
Not on the list? It is a small operation, so the quickest way to find out is to ring and ask. 0497 582 753
Caravans, campers and 4WDs
This is the work Trent is best known for around Koroit and Port Fairy, and the work he actually photographs. Solar into an MPPT controller, a DC to DC charger off the alternator, a proper isolator, a fuse block with every circuit labelled, and the cable sized for the run rather than whatever was on the shelf.
Victron gear where it suits the job. The point is not the brand on the box, it is that six months later, when you are three hundred kilometres from anywhere and the fridge stops, you can open the hatch and read the label on the fuse.

On the shelf
Automotive, deep cycle, 4x4 and marine, all sitting on the rack in the Koroit workshop. Worth knowing too that a flat battery and a charging fault look identical from the driver's seat, and only one of the two is fixed by a new battery, which is the sort of thing an auto electrician is for.
Charging fault, parasitic drain, dead cell or a bad earth. Worth knowing which one it is before you buy anything.
"Long story short, I spoke to Trent and said that should be possible. He dropped the poodle and I into town for a bit of sight seeing in Koroit. He rang me in a bit over an hour and all done, he then picked me up! I actually can't believe how good he did it. Awesome job. He's clearly a great metal fabricator too."
The work
Everyday jobs and one off fabrication. The bracket in the second photo was made up so a trailer plug and an Anderson plug would sit on a towbar and look like they came from the factory.

Who you are dealing with
Fully qualified and insured, with over ten years as an auto electrician behind him. TPT is a one man business run out of a workshop in Koroit, fifteen minutes from Warrnambool.
That means the bloke who picks up the phone is the bloke who does the work and the bloke who rings you back when it is finished. Customers keep saying the same three things in their reviews: he explains what he found, he gets it done quickly, and the bill is fair.
He also does a fair bit of metal fabrication when a job needs a bracket that does not exist, which is how a Porsche ended up leaving Koroit with a tow setup that looks like it came that way.

Where he works
The workshop is in Koroit, which as Trent puts it is just fifteen minutes from Warrnambool, and a short run up the road from Port Fairy. Customers come across from all over the district, and plenty of them are towing something when they do.
Ring before you drive over, so Trent can make sure he has the bench free and the part on the shelf.
Get in touch
The workshop is open eight to five, Monday to Friday. If he is under a dash when you ring, leave a message and he will get back to you. Or send the details across and he will pick them up from there.
